Free Spirit Match & Coarse Rods

Free Spirit Hi-'S' Match Rods

Free Spirit chose a very distinctive handle build to showcase the slimness and lightness of the Hi-'S' match blanks but we are aware many traditional anglers prefer a full handle in cork and EVA. Therefore they also offer these rods with a full handle predominantly of 'A' grade cork. Since they are also about choice the Hi-'S' match rod can be custome built with choice of butt section design to accommodate full cork, full EVA or other reel seats and also the sddition of names or other writing.

Free Spirit CTX Match Rods

Using 40t carbon with a B-Axis carbon tape allows for a rod that is light but very strong to cope with even the largest commercial carp. This material provides very crisp actions that make accurate casting easy and also the power build up is very subtle so you never feel you've lost control. There is no paint or lacquer on the blank so the finish will last for many years.

Free Spirit Power Feeder Rods

Designed for distance work on lakes for carp and silvers and for powerful rivers these rods are designed to cast yet still be efficient fish playing tools.

Two ranges of rods - the Hi-'S' and the CTX (Coming Soon) to suit differing budgets these feature bigger guides for the use of heavier lines, braid and shock leaders including larger quiver tip guides and longer handles for extra leverage to compress the rod for long casts.

The 'Special' rods are multi-purpose tools to cope with most rivers abd lakes and suitable for Bream and other silvers in addition to carp whilst the 'Distance' rods have more power and higher casting ratings for the more powerful rivers and for extreme range lake fishing for larger carp or when distance is paramount.

Free Spirit Power Float Rods

Using the same 40t Low Resin Carbon as the rest of the Hi-‘S’ range, these float rods are extremely light to hold but are a joy to use all day. The ultra slim blanks are designed with specialist fishing in mind, hence the 12’ and 13’ models being made in two pieces and the 15’ in three pieces. This makes for much better actions to control large fish in currents or under the rod top since we believe the action flows better through the blank and the power transmission is smoother.

The 12’ Float makes an excellent tench float rod whilst the 13’ and 15’ are well suited to river fishing where control of floats is a must. These rods have also landed very large carp from commercial fisheries.

The shorter 10’ model is ideal for roving little streams and rivers.
